WordPress hosting is a big jungle!
Thousands and thousands of options to choose from, ranging from excellent to meh to avoid at all cost (and any nuance in between).
So, choosing the right host is not an easy fit!
I didn’t test all the hosting available on this planet to tell you which are the good ones, but I can at least tell you the ones I use and recommend. Like that you have a recommendation based on experience. So my current choice is:
ChemiCloud
I currently manage a website (as of July 2026) with around 1300/1400 visitors a day. The site has been hosted there for about a year now and ChemiCloud has not failed us.
- Downtime is nearly inexistent.
- The speed is great. (They are in the top tier of shared hosting for this.)
- They have good documentation for self-support. Otherwise the 24/7 human support is knowledgeable, pleasant and fast (I only had to ask a question 2 times and I got answered in minutes). And, to date, no invasive AI that prevents you from talking to someone.
- You have access to cPanel packed with useful tools
- ChemiCloud is built upon Linode cloud infrastructure, so it’s very easy to scale. They also offer “boost” options if you need to handle more traffic for a limited time (but honestly, I’m on the Turbo plan and it can handle plenty of traffic, I once had a peak with 15k visitors the same day and there was no slowdown!)
The price we’re paying for a 3-year subscription is really cheap (equivalent to $4.49/month)
So I definitely recommend them!
Other benefits with ChemiCloud
- You can migrate your website for free there.
- 17 server locations to choose from. Even tho it doesn’t matter if you use a CDN.
- They have shared hosting, but also VPS, so always nice if, with time passing, you need something more powerful without having to change hosting.
Other good option
I heard (from WP/Performance experts) really good things about ScalaHosting. I’ve not tested it myself, but if ChemiCloud is not for you, then it may be worth it to take a look at Scala. (You can also take a look at this review from a WP expert)
I would like to know more about good options relative to sustainable hosting. I heard about Krystal, but don’t have any experience with it, nor do I know if they are worth it. Infomaniak is a good choice, I don’t have extensive experience with them, but with the limited experience I have with them + all the feedback I have heard from freelances/agencies, it’s, at the very minimum, a good option.
If you know good sustainable options, feel free to shoot me an email!
